Frequently Asked Questions

Is Zoom or teletherapy less effective than in person?
Studies have confirmed that Zoom and teletherapy can be as effective as in person psychotherapy for anxiety, depression and trauma.
Do you offer in person sessions?
Yes. I enjoy meeting in person when it is possible in my NY and NJ offices.
Do you take insurance?
I don’t. I do my best work when I’m able to allocate my resources to treatment planning, client engagement and the delivery of services. Accepting in-network insurance doesn’t allow me to do this, and forces me to spend an inordinate amount of time on costly administrative and distractions.
Can psychotherapy successfully treat anxiety?
Mild, moderate and severe anxiety, including panic attacks can be successfully treated with psychotherapy.
How do I know when it’s the right time for therapy focused on my relationship problems?
If you find you are very frustrated, having a lot of arguments, and/or the same arguments over and over it may be time for psychotherapy. I can help individuals and couples improve their communication to support the relationship. My goal is for both people in the relationship feel heard.
